Frederick Herman de Schomberg, 1st Duke of Schomberg and an unknown boy by and published by John Smith, after Sir Godfrey Kneller, Bt Military commander born at Heidelberg of an English mother; served throughout Europe in various armies; accompanied by William of Orange to England, 1688; Commander-in-Chief in Ireland, 1689; was killed at the Battle of the Boyne.
