Henrietta Hyde, Countess of Rochester (1646–1687), born Henrietta Boyle, was a prominent Anglo-Irish noblewoman, courtier, and one of the "Windsor Beauties" painted by Sir Peter Lely. Married to Laurence Hyde, 1st Earl of Rochester, she served as governess to Princess Anne and was known for her influential, assertive, and ambitious nature at the court of King James II

This fine and large mezzotint is a particularly rich impression which is in an excellent state of conservation. It is housed u under rippled glass in a very fine quality ebonised frame with sanded gilt slip.
